Technology
Patients of our Ramsgate Beach, NSW dental clinic appreciate our old-fashioned hospitality—as well as our modern dental technology. We appreciate our patients and want them to have the best possible dental experience, and technology streamlines appointments, improves patient comfort, decreases time in the dental chair and provides better possible outcomes for treatment.
Dr Robert Ayar stays current with advancements in dental technology and is committed to lifelong learning. We want our patients to receive the highest standard in comfortable dental care.
We hope you will take a look below at some of the featured technology in our dental clinic—and always remember that we welcome your enquiries.
Panoramic X-Rays
Digital x-rays allow Dr Ayar to see issues that are going on with individual teeth, but sometimes a flat view of your entire mouth and joints all in the same shot is useful. With a panoramic x-ray, we can see all of your teeth, joints and periodontal bone all at once. Panoramic x-rays are particularly useful when making recommendations about wisdom teeth extraction because they give us a view of their development and orientation.
Televisions in Treatment Rooms
Who doesn’t appreciate a distraction while they are sitting in the dental chair? You can relax to your favourite programme or film with our treatment room televisions while we work to improve your oral health.
Digital X-Rays
Who doesn’t appreciate a distraction while they are sitting in the dental chair? You can relax to your favourite programme or film with our treatment room televisions while we work to improve your oral health.
Today’s digital x-rays reduce the amount of radiation exposure substantially, compared to traditional film x-rays. You are more likely to encounter more radiation walking outside on a sunny day or flying in an aeroplane. Because no harmful chemicals are needed to develop digital x-rays, they are better for the environment as well.
3-D Cone Beam
Digital x-rays are a crucial diagnostic tool when it comes to identifying dental issues such as tooth decay before they are even visible. When we need a more comprehensive view, we turn to 3-D cone beam imaging. This leading-edge dental technology enables Dr Ayar to see the structures of your mouth in a three-dimensional view. It enables Dr Ayar to plan treatments more accurately as well as perform procedures such as root canals with improved accuracy..
Electric Handpieces
When working in an area as small as the mouth, precision is crucial—and that’s where electric handpieces come into play. They are vitald to being able to provide our patients with exceptional comfort and accuracy. Electric handpieces are also quieter than their manual or air-driven counterparts.
Intra-Oral Camera
This innovative dental technology provides Dr Ayar with a close-up, detailed view of the mouth. It takes high-resolution videos and extremely detailed pictures that patients can see in real-time. With an intra-oral camera, Dr Ayar can zoom in on a tooth to show you exactly what he is seeing. It’s a great way to obtain a better understanding of treatment recommendations.
Rotary Endodontics
The dreaded root canal is not the painful procedure many people believe it to be—especially when it is performed with 21st-century tools such as rotary endodontics. This technology allows us to perform accurate, efficient root canals that minimise the amount of time you’ll have to spend in the dental chair. It has also done away with the anxiety-producing noise of less high-tech equipment, which makes the procedure much more pleasant for patients.
Why do I need a dental x-ray?
Dental x-rays provide us with a crucial diagnostic tool because it enables Dr Robert Ayar to see issues that are invisible to the naked eye. In fact, without the highly
detailed images, we wouldn’t be able to provide you with the highest standard of dental care you deserve.
Dental x-rays provide us with a crucial diagnostic tool becauDigital radiographs are used to check for cavities in their earliest stages. We can also use x-rays to see the tooth roots and the gums, so we can detect any signs of infection or gum disease before you experience any pain or discomfort.
Patients who are concerned about the safety of dental x-rays should know that digital radiographs emit much less radiation than the traditional film x-rays that we used to use. We also use a leaded apron to further ensure patient safety during the process.
For most patients, we recommend a set of x-rays once every year, but depending on your needs and current oral health, Dr Ayar may advise more or less frequent x-rays.
Has it been longer than six months since your last dental examination and clean? It’s easy to schedule a booking, and we warmly welcome new patients. We look forward to seeing you.
